Registration FAQS

Registration Detail Information

The information below is for a regular spring season of baseball.  The activity will most likely be governed by the latest COVID-19 rules that are applicable in April 2024.  Please understand that we cannot guarantee that the schedules and activities listed will be valid in April 2024.

How old must my player be to participate?

Your player must be 5 or turning 5 in the year of play.  i.e. for 2024 players born in 2019 are eligible.  Players born in 2020 are too young for the 2024 season and are not eligible until the 2025 season.

When is registration open and closed?
Online registration is open on January 2 for the 2024 season for Challenger,  5U, 7U, 9U, 11U, 13U, 15U, 18U, and 25U Junior divisions.   Registration will close on April  1.  Registrations received after March 15 may be put on a waiting list - please register early!

Do I need to register through the website?
Yes.  All registrations are through the website portal.

Is there a payment plan for registration fees?
No.  Full payment or financial assistance are the only options.

If I need financial assistance, can I get it?
Yes.  You can apply for funding from KidSport, Jumpstart, or Athletics 4 kids.

If these organizations turned me down and I am truly in need of help, is there any other assistance available?
Yes.  After review, MMBA will self-sponsor your athlete if warranted.  Lack of money is not a reason for your player not to take the field.

What form of payment can I use?
Online registrations allow you to pay in full by credit card.  You can pay offline by E-transfer to paymentsmmba@shaw.ca

Once registered, when will I hear which coach and team my player has been assigned to?
MMBA will contact you with activity schedules as soon as possible.  COVID-19 Provincial Health Orders will determine what activity we can run and when.

Can my player be moved up a division if I feel they are capable?
Yes.  Move-ups are allowed; however, an evaluation is required by MMBA to ensure your player is safe and capable of playing at the elevated level.  The evaluation is usually done at the preseason training sessions, so if you feel this applies to your player, please come out to the preseason session to move up to a division and let the facilitator know you are looking to move to this division.

If my player is looking to move up, will I register for the division he/she is moving to or the division that is age-appropriate?
Register and pay under the age-appropriate division.  If your player is allowed to play up, only his division and team assignment will change.

How will I receive information from MMBA and/or my player's coach?
You will receive an email or a text message (for best results,  choose both ) for all communications through the Demosphere app.  You must enable one or both of these communication methods to receive the league or team activities/notices.  You can find the instructions to do this in the Parent Portal of the Connect tab.

Can I have messages sent to my spouse/partner/relative as well as to me?
Yes.   You can find the instructions to do this in the Parent Portal of the Connect tab.
